Green Silicon Carbide Introduction:

Green Silicon Carbide (SiC) is an artificial corundum produced through the fusion of Quartz Sand (mainly composed of silica SiO2), Petroleum Coke, and NaCl (catalyst) in an electric resistance furnace. Among abrasive materials, silicon carbide surpasses corundum in hardness and ranks below diamond, cubic boron nitride, and boron carbide. It exhibits a density typically ranging from 3.20 to 3.25g/cm3, with a bulk density of 1.2-1.6g/cm3. Semi-transparent in a green hue, it possesses a crystalline structure, high hardness, sharpness, strong cutting ability, stable chemical characteristics, and good thermal conductivity.

The combination of hardness and sharpness makes it an exceptionally aggressive material, especially suitable for applications requiring high purity. Silicon carbide is extensively utilized in the production of grinding wheels, lapping materials, and refractory raw materials. Green Silicon Carbide Abrasive Grits (Green SiC Abrasives) adhere to the FEPA/JIS/ANSI standards.
